Our Staff

Veterinary Technicians / Assistants

All of our Veterinary Technicians and Assistants are highly qualified to take great care of your pets. They handle all routine and sick visits, admission and discharge of patients, nursing care for hospitalized animals, triage and care of emergency patients, aid in restraint, radiography, and provide routine technician procedures. Our Veterinary Technicians are Certified, Licensed and/or a Graduate with a degree in Applied Animal Sciences. Veterinary Assistants on staff are currently attending school to earn their degree and become eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE), to become Certified. Our policy at Pitman Animal Hospital, though not mandated by the State of New Jersey, is that only Veterinary Technicians handle anesthesia, assist in surgery and perform dental cleanings.

CSRs

Our Client Service Representatives (CSRs) are usually your first contact with our hospital staff, whether it is over the phone or at the front desk. Our CSRs are friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable about our products and procedures. We pride ourselves on our customer service and have recently received the highest average for our phone skills from a communications consultant firm! CSRs handle all phone calls, scheduling of appointments and surgical procedures, retrieving records for incoming patients, monetary transactions and all clerical work.

Kennel Assistants

Kennel Assistants work mostly behind the scenes to help our hospital run smoothly. Kennel Assistants disinfect exam rooms, clean and restock the hospital and aid in restraint. Many of our Kennel Assistants have gone on to become Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Veterinarians.
